It is also a good opportunity to visit the Museo della Battaglia.

Well? Did you come to the official opening of our exhibition ‘1859: In the Meantime’?
We were pleased to welcome the Councillor Paola Bevilacqua and Alberto Fornaroli President of the ‘Twinning Committee’ (Comitato Gemellagi), a good number of English Club members and a lot of local visitors.
The Club members in the ’IV Giugno’ group, including little Giacomo our Big Ben expert, made a great job of presenting the 5 roll-ups (in Italian this time!) and the journalists who came gave us ample coverage in the local press. All in all we are very pleased with the outcome.
In the meantime (appunto!) we have had a lot of visitors at the exhibition. Some of them originally came to see the Museo della Battaglia and were very impressed at this unexpected bonus which they all considered a most valid contribution which takes visitors into a parallel world without shadowing the Battaglia itself.
If you haven’t managed to come to the exhibition yet, it is open until 7th Junethe day of the re-enactment of the Battaglia which is always an impressive sight. So if you go and see the celebrations don’t forget to drop in and see us in Casa Giacobbe too. There are a lot of activities going on at the same time but we also hope to entertain any children with a few simple activities.

New Club Committee

After the English Club elections last month all the candidates were confirmed and will be forming the new committee. We are now working on the individual assignments but I will remain President and Marella has accepted to be the vice-president. Thanks to you all for your support. We are already collecting ideas for next year’s programme so if you have any suggestions please contact one of us:
Helen Pitt –Marella Corbani – Nando Viganò – Marina Barbieri – Rita Genevini Croci – Cinzia Zacheo.

Next Meeting: Wednesday 17th June

Our next meeting is the last this year and, as the programme reveals, we will be talking about – FOOD. English Food!

Don’t worry – it isn’t as bad as its reputation! Some members will be cooking English recipes and we will be preparing a Happy Hour for you STARTING AT 20:30.

So no need to have anything to eat before the meeting! The evening will be open to non-members with the usual contribution which will help pay for the items I will be bringing back from the UK!
